Dosing guidelines
Different herbal blends can have slightly different dosing. Always look at the label on the herbs or advice provided with product. As a general rule.....
Standard Dose (twice daily)
• Up to 5 kg: ¼ teaspoon
• 5–10 kg: ½ teaspoon
• 10–15 kg: ¾ teaspoon
• 15–20 kg: 1 teaspoon
• 20–30 kg: 1½ teaspoons
• 30–40 kg: 2 teaspoons
Unless otherwise advised, most dogs and cats require between half and a full calculated dose per day.
Important: Please begin with half the recommended dose for the first 2 weeks. This allows your animal's system to adjust gently and helps us assess response.
How Long Will a 100 g Pouch Last?
Most formulas weigh approximately 2–3 grams per teaspoon.
For a 20 kg dog receiving 1 teaspoon twice daily (2 teaspoons per day), this equals approximately 4–6 grams per day.
A 100 g pouch will therefore last approximately 17–25 days (around 2½ to 3½ weeks) at full dose.
If your dog is on a half dose during the first 2 weeks, the pouch will last proportionally longer during that period.
What to Expect?
The herbs are combined to work synergistically to support circulation, organ function, and overall balance.
• Improvements are typically noticed within 2–3 weeks.
• Progress is often steady but not linear — small improvements with occasional ups and downs are normal.
• If well matched, the overall trend should be positive over time.
If your dog worsens rather than improves, please contact us or stop the herbs. Any adverse effects are usually mild and resolve once discontinued. Adverse effects give us valuable information and usually help clarify a more appropriate formula.
Adjusting the Dose
• A lower maintenance dose may be sufficient once improvement is seen.
• A higher or more frequent dose may be used when needed and the formula choice is certain.
Please consult before making significant dose changes.
Tips for Administering Herbs
Most animals with a good appetite will readily eat their herbs mixed into their normal food.
If your pet is a little pickier, you can try the following:
• Mix the herbs with a small amount of a favourite treat (e.g. mince, sardines, or cheese).
• Stir the herbs into warm bone broth and pour over food.
• Place the herbs into empty gelatin capsules if needed, and administer directly or hidden in food.
