"Cools the Blood" in severe itch and destructive inflammation.

How it Works

Immunobalm is based on the Chinese Herbal Formula Qing Ying Tang. It was developed to treat life threatening acute infections such as septicaemia and its actions are to “Clear Heat from the Blood".

In today’s world, antibiotics have replaced this formula in human medicine, however it has been found to have many other uses in veterinary medicine.

Immunobalm is composed of herbs designed to “Cool the Blood”. In practical terms, this relates to inappropriate and severe inflammation primarily in the blood but also in the skin.

Diseases such as haemolytic anaemia or thrombocytopaenia may particularly benefit. Some of the herbs in Immunobalm have been researched for their ability to stop red blood cell and platelet destrction. Other conditions where there is an inappropriate antibody mediated immune condition such as masticatory myositis and allergic skin disease are also indications for its use.

Immunobalm may also be used as its original intent as an antimicrobial in infection, although today it is usually given with antibiotics not instead of, to improve response time and effect.

Using Immunobalm in skin disease.

Allergic skin disease is one of the most common and frustrating problems for dog owners and vets.  For those dogs who do not reduce itching in response to a whole food diet, Cessorex is the herbal blend of choice. Cessorex works to increase peripheral circulation and modulate the immune response. It also works to heal the gut which is the primary problem in allergic disease. Sometimes however, the increased circulation can also increase the inflammation in the skin, which creates more itch and redness. This can be severe. In these cases, adding Immunobalm can allow Cessorex to continue working on the primary problem whilst reducing the itch and inflammation.

Immunobalm is safe to use with corticosteroids and antibiotics and may allow a reduction in their use.

*Contraindications: Avoid the use of Immunobalm in animals that show symptoms of cold and deficiency (such as poor appetite, lethargy, pale tongue). It is a cooling formula and will make the animals symptoms worse.

**Please note, Vets are taught, common things occur commonly. In this case, Immunobalm is almost always going to be a good idea for a dog with immune mediated thrombocytopaenia, haemolytic anaemic and masticatory myositis, however there are exceptions.

Immunobalm may also work well with Cessorex in hot dogs with allergic skin disease.  A hands-on visit with your integrative vet will help refine the herbs best for your pet.
