Currently in Australia, KAN herbal blends are only allowed to be dispensed by a registered veterinarian.

As with all Traditional Chinese Herbal blends, KAN Herbs are best prescribed by an integrative veterinarian who can examine your dog in person. Telehealth consultations however can be used when access to an appropriate veterinarian is difficult or not possible.

If you would like to access the KAN range of herbal blends, please book an appointment to access a telehealth (phone or video) appointment with Dr Tanya Meares BVSc.

Before the appointment, you will be asked to submit a form with background information about your dog and their health issues.

The cost of the 30 minute telehealth appointment is $80 but you will receive a discount of $40 on your first order of any Kan product (if any are suggested).

For any customers who have received advice directly from Dr Steve Marsden on his personal facebook page click here. It is likely that no fees will apply.

How it Works

Dispel Dampness and Nourish the Skin (Chu Shi Wei Ling Tang) contains the formula Spleen Support Formula (Wei Ling Tang) and acts to warm the Spleen, dispel Damp and move stagnant abdominal Qi. It contains additional herbs to gently but firmly drain Damp and clear Heat to relieve occasional itch. Animals benefiting from this formula have progressed from being Cold and Damp to Hot and Damp; the Damp Heat is still relatively mild compared to that addressed by Four Marvels (Si Miao San).

White atractylodes rhizome and Magnolia bark both dry Damp. Magnolia bark additionally disperses stasis from the abdomen while Cang-zhu atractylodes rhizome warms the Spleen and Stomach. Tangerine dried rind of mature fruit assists in moving the Qi of the abdomen while also “cutting” the Damp. Ginger rhizome and Red jujube fruit tonify the Stomach and Spleen, respectively, without being cloying. Chinese licorice root and rhizome tonifies the Spleen and Stomach Qi, while also harmonizing the formula as a whole.

Asian water plantain rhizome and Poria drain Damp and promote urination. White atractylodes rhizome tonifies the Spleen to reduce the production of Damp. Chinese cinnamon bark drains Damp, warms the Yang of the Middle Burner and supports healthy production and discharge of urine by the Bladder.
