Galvanex is a botanical formulation designed to support vitality, digestion and adaptive resilience in dogs showing signs of low energy, poor recovery or “Qi deficiency” patterns.

Some dogs appear unable to efficiently maintain energy, circulation and normal peripheral function despite adequate nutrition and care. These dogs may struggle with stamina, maintaining condition, recovery from stress or illness, or effective distribution of resources throughout the body. Over time, they may appear weak, flat, under-resilient or slow to respond physically.

In integrative medicine, these patterns are often associated with impaired digestive efficiency, reduced adaptive capacity and inadequate support reaching the peripheral tissues and organs.

Galvanex is formulated to support digestion, energy availability and healthy circulation throughout the body. Rather than acting as a stimulant, the formula focuses on supporting the body’s ability to efficiently generate and distribute resources where they are needed most.

Important considerations

Herbal formulas are generally very well tolerated when appropriately matched to the individual dog. Occasionally a formula may not suit a particular patient, with the dog showing signs that a different approach may be needed. These signs vary between individuals and may include increased heat, restlessness, agitation or worsening inflammatory symptoms. If this occurs, reduce the dose or discontinue use. Signs typically resolve after stopping the formula. In many cases, this simply provides further information that another herbal approach may be more appropriate for your dog’s individual pattern or presentation. Galvanex is a concentrated powdered herbal extract formulated for easy daily use.

To use, mix the herbs into your pet’s food or combine with broth or water before serving.

Suggested starting dose (twice daily)
Up to 7kg: 1/8 tsp
7–18kg: 1/4 tsp
18–30kg: 1/2 tsp
30–50kg: 3/4 tsp
Over 50kg: 1 tsp

If needed, the dose may be gradually adjusted depending on individual response and veterinary guidance.

Galvanex is based on the classical Chinese herbal formula Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang, traditionally translated as “Lift the Qi”. The formula is used where Qi is deficient or unable to be appropriately distributed throughout the body, particularly to the peripheral tissues and upper body.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these patients often show signs of sinking or deficient Qi. Clinically, this may manifest as weakness, fatigue, poor stamina, poor appetite, pale or frequent stools, difficulty maintaining condition, recurrent infections, urinary or faecal incontinence, prolapse or slow recovery from illness or stress.

From an integrative perspective, these dogs often appear unable to efficiently generate or distribute resources despite adequate nutrition and care. Peripheral circulation, digestive efficiency and adaptive resilience may all appear reduced.

Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang is traditionally regarded as one of the major “tonifying and lifting” formulas in Chinese medicine. Galvanex combines herbs selected to support digestion, circulation and distribution of Qi throughout the body, helping improve resilience and the body’s ability to respond to ongoing physical or environmental demands.

In Western integrative practice, these patterns may overlap with presentations involving chronic stress adaptation, poor recovery, hormonally responsive incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, poor muscle tone or chronic low-grade weakness. Some patients may also show low sodium:potassium ratios or patterns suggestive of impaired adrenal responsiveness.

Galvanex is commonly used as a foundational or “helper” formula alongside other herbal blends where underlying Qi deficiency may be limiting the patient’s ability to respond appropriately to treatment.

When paired with Voltrex or Lumbrex, Galvanex may help improve peripheral circulation and support delivery of Qi and nourishment to the musculoskeletal system, particularly in weak or deficient animals where response to treatment has plateaued.

When paired with Halscion, Galvanex may be particularly useful in dogs where underlying Qi deficiency contributes to anxiety, weakness or poor stress tolerance. In some deficient patients, Halscion alone may worsen fatigue, weakness or reduced resilience by further reducing already depleted Qi. Adding Galvanex often significantly improves the response by supporting underlying Qi, circulation and adaptive capacity.

When paired with Cessorex, Galvanex may support dogs where poor peripheral immune function, weak digestion or deficient circulation are contributing to chronic skin disease. However, in strongly inflammatory or excessive “heat” presentations, Galvanex may aggravate symptoms by increasing circulation and immune activity.

This formula is generally less suited to acute inflammatory excess patterns where heat, agitation, redness or strong inflammatory reactivity predominate.

Generally well tolerated when appropriately matched to the patient.
