Damp Heat Derma Relief (Long Dan Er Miao San)

POA
Size

A classical formula traditionally used to clear Damp-Heat and Liver Fire in patterns of acute, moist and inflamed skin disease.

Currently in Australia, KAN herbal blends are only allowed to be dispensed by a registered veterinarian.

As with all Traditional Chinese Herbal blends, KAN Herbs are best prescribed by an integrative veterinarian who can examine your animal in person. Telehealth consultations however can be used when access to an appropriate veterinarian is difficult or not possible.

If you are a registered Veterinarian, please get in touch via our contact page.

If you would like to access the KAN range of herbal blends, please book an appointment to access a telehealth (phone or video) appointment with Dr Tanya Meares BVSc.

Before the appointment, you will be asked to submit a form with background information about your animal and their health issues.

The cost of the 30 minute telehealth appointment is $80 but you will receive a discount of $40 on your first order of any Kan product (if any are suggested).

How it Works

Long Dan Er Miao San combines elements of Long Dan Xie Gan Tang with Er Miao San to strongly clear Damp-Heat and Liver Fire affecting the skin and lower body.

Gentian root, Skullcap and Gardenia clear Heat from the Liver and Heart while drying Damp in the Lower Burner. Phellodendron and Cang Zhu clear Damp-Heat and protect the Spleen from excessive cooling.

Plantain seed, Alisma and Poria drain Damp through the urinary pathway, reducing inflammatory accumulation. Rehmannia cools Blood and protects Yin. Peony and Moutan cool and move Blood to prevent stagnation. Wind-dispersing herbs such as Mulberry leaf and Dictamnus assist in relieving superficial irritation.

In veterinary terms, this formula is selected when inflammation is moist, red, hot and rapidly progressing.

It is stronger and more Heat-clearing than Si Miao San and is used in acute flare states rather than chronic metabolic Damp patterns.
