Herbanica Vasguard (Hawthorn Berry)

Hawthorn berry (Crataegus spp.) supports cardiovascular function primarily by improving myocardial efficiency and coronary circulation. Its flavonoids and oligomeric procyanidins act as mild positive inotropes, increasing the strength of cardiac contraction without significantly increasing myocardial oxygen demand. It also promotes coronary and peripheral vasodilation via endothelial nitric oxide pathways, reducing afterload and improving cardiac output.

Hawthorn has mild anti-arrhythmic and ACE-inhibitory effects, helping stabilise cardiac rhythm and gently lower blood pressure. In addition, its strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions protect cardiomyocytes and may slow adverse cardiac remodelling in chronic disease.

Crataegus laevigataextract (0.9 mL/mL)
equivalent to fresh fruit 900 mg/mL

Shake bottle before use.

Give 0.2 mls per 5kg twice daily. This dose can be adjusted by a veterinary professional as indicated. For example dose frequency may be increased to every 8 hrs.

Please note, this Australian whole root extract has an ethanol base. Doses are low and therefore the amount of ethanol consumed by the animal is small.

If owners wish to reduce the ethanol content they can pour the tincture into a warm saucepan but DO NOT boil. Gently let some of the liquid evaporate and pour back into bottle. Replace what has been lost by water and then store in fridge.
